BEAUTICIAN
Beautician training is one of the most popular and fast growing vocational training programs offered by SSSS. Initially it started as one of the vocational training courses offered to students but quickly turned into a full fledged program with many students now running their own Beauty Clinics from their home. Over the years SSSS has held yearly bridal fashion shows for the school where these students get a chance to compete in bridal makeover and learn important tips from professional make-up artists invited as Chief Guests and judges. SSSS is actively looking for potential partner Beauty Clinics to place these students in internships and jobs to gain hands on experience and skills. The ultimate aim is to allow these students to be able to utilise this skill as a means of earning regular income
RADIO PROGRAMS

In partnership with ‘UKS Research Centre’ students at SSSS are getting a chance to learn the art of production and broadcasting of radio programs. ‘UKS Research Centre’ is an NGO dedicated to counter the negative portrayal of women in media and is credited with launching the first ever series of radio programs produced and presented by women. Through this opportunity, SSSS students have independently produced and presented a series of Radio Programs, discovering the power of their voice and sharing their views with the rest of the world. Opportunities like these are providing our students more and more confidence and belief in their ability to depend on themselves and lead a productive and fulfilling life.
PROJECTS
SCHOOL PROJECT

​The school project was started in 2001 targetting boys below age 10 and women of all ages with the purpose of providing them with basic eduation upto grade 10th and vocational training.
Located in Lyair, Khadda, one of the slums of Karachi, SSSS school caters to 200 females, aged between 5 and 60 years. These women and children have never been to school or have dropped out owing to abject parental poverty. The irrelevance of the curriculum and long incubation period (10 – 16 years) to obtain educational certificates and degrees do little to generate employment opportunities.
Our educational program shortens the span from 10 years to 6 months to acheive literacy upto grade 10th in core subjects. Students who show interest and aptitude for higher education are enrolled in open university programs with SSSS covering all the related costs. In addition, extra currivular actitivites like dramatics, sports and computer literacy are also encouraged. Last year SSSS students won the first prize for a stage play in a Youth Festival in which several top universities and colleges competed.
