Dr. Nuzhat Ali (Program Director)

An educationist and a science teacher by profession, Dr Nuzhat has looked after the financial and operational aspects of the program since 2004. Her experience and guidance marks the pragmatism that prevails at the Ilm-O-Hunar school.

Abdullah Khadim Husain (late) – Founder

Mr. Husain was an educationist, a teacher, and a technocrat with a life time experience in the realm of education and literacy at various forums, starting with teaching in a Public School, a career in the Federal Government, and a career in the United Nations Development program. The SSSS and its pilot programs are the culmination of Mr. Husain's aspirations to make a difference by touching the lives of the marginilized population group's in our society. An 'obstinate optimim' characterized his efforts to set up an education program from scratch in the violent neighbourhood of Lyaari. From a grass roots survey of the number of marginlized children who are left out of the schoolnig system, to setting up a program that mirrors the aspirtation of the local community, Mr Husain was tireless in translating the vision into reality. Mr Husain passed away recently, in May 2014.

Afsar Hussain (Project Manager)

Mr Hussain has been with the program since its inception in the year 2001. A commerce graduate with formal training in Accounting, Mr. Husain has grown beyond his initial role of financial management to proactive operational affairs with an unfaltering commitment.

Samar Fatima ( Vocational Education Advisor)

Ms. Samar Fatima joined the program in the year 2007, with a focus on developing the vocational training program. Ms. Fatima is an Economics graduate by training, and has a keen sense of entrepreneurial stewardship that she imparts to the students enrolled in vocational programs.

The teaching staff at the Ilm-u-Hunar school is a vibrant group of individuals who share an unwavering faith in the meaningful impact of the school on the local communality. Most of the teachers are alumni of the

Ilm-u-Hunar school who have come back to their alma-matter to give back to the system.
